Workers' Comp Audit Guides by State
Workers' comp premium audits and class-code misclassification disputes work differently depending on whether your state rates coverage on NCCI class codes. Below is a guide for every state: the 36states ClassCheck currently supports because they use NCCI codes, and the states we don't yet cover because they run their own rating bureau or a monopolistic state fund.

States ClassCheck doesn't support yet
These 15states rate workers' comp outside the NCCI system, so our class-code analysis doesn't apply there yet. They fall into two groups. Independent-bureau statesrun their own rating bureau instead of using NCCI, so class codes, code definitions, and rates are set by that bureau. Our lookups and misclassification rules are built on NCCI's Scopes Manual, which doesn't line up cleanly with those systems, so running the checker against an audit from one of them would give you unreliable results. Monopolistic-fund states require employers to buy coverage directly from a state fund rather than a private, NCCI-rated carrier — there is no NCCI-rated policy for our analysis to compare against.
